I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (2002) from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL. Then, I attended Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL where I earned a Master of Science Degree in Reading Education (2007). I am currently enrolled at The University of Alabama pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.
Teaching Experience:
I taught as a Language Arts/Reading Teacher for 11 years in the Broward County Public School System in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
I taught my first three years as a 7th/8th Language Arts/Reading Teacher at Sunrise Middle School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Afterward, I transferred to Ramblewood Middle School in Coral Springs, FL where I taught for seven years as a 6th/7th grade Language Arts/Reading Teacher. Then, before relocating to Alabama, I taught a year at Coconut Creek High School as a 9th grade Intensive Reading Teacher.
This school year will be my 12th year as a 7th Language Arts teacher at MMS.
Biography:
I am originally from the Coconut Creek, FL area. Due to my husband's job relocation opportunity through the Maxwell Air Force Base, we had to leave a place I called home for the past 34 years of my life. He has recently retired. Also, we have a 15-year-old daughter.
Currently, I have been residing in the Millbrook, AL area for 11 years now. I have become very comfortable with my new home- ALABAMA.
