Biography:

My Bachelor’s Degree is in Electrical Engineering, an applied mathematics. I began teaching in 2007 on an Emergency Certificate. After receiving my Master of Education in Secondary Mathematics, I began teaching in 9th Grade Algebra 1. After moving to Virginia (to strike out on my own!), I began teaching 9th – 11th Grade Mathematics (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, & Honors Pre-Calculus). I moved home to Sylacauga in 2015 when my dad became very sick and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I helped take care of him and worked on my Education Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership online through the University of North Alabama. He passed in May of 2018.

Currently, I am in the process of restoring my 1837 house that I recently purchased in Wetumpka so that mom could live with me because she had a form of Parkinson's (PSP - Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Unfortunately, I recently lost my mom in September of 2023. I have three nephews that live with my brother and sister-in-law in Metairie, LA.
